Walking Through The Snow
This series of film photography shares the homes and neighborhoods I lived in throughout my childhood in North Minneapolis in the late 90’s. From Emerson, Morgan, Dupont and relatives house on 17th & James. I wanted to share with you all a perspective from my lens, using a vintage Canon A-1 SLR film camera.
On Emerson, I recollect memories like riding our bikes up and down the steep hills, playing basketball with brothers in the back just to watch the ball roll down the bottom of the alley, and memories walking to the corner store and the surrounding local businesses. A lot of fond memories at Jordon Park where all my cousins and neighborhood friends would come together and kick it and just…be kids.
I chose to do this during the winter with the intention to captivate stillness. I sought to address my discomfort from some of those memories during the winter months and come to peace with my past.
